Door shutters for properties in Irvine
Irvine sits some 6 miles to the west of Kilmarnock.
Because a door shutter can cover an escape route, each one we fit in Irvine has an inside control that works without a key, plus a manual override or battery backup.
Door shutters in Irvine can run from the same remote or app as window shutters, so the whole ground floor closes together.
Whether your property is in the centre of Irvine or on its edges, it is included in our Ayrshire coverage. Other towns nearby that we cover include Kilmarnock, Ayr and Largs.

Rules that apply in Irvine
Irvine is in Scotland, so planning decisions sit with your planning authority (the local council, or a national park authority).
- Getting out safely: A shutter over an exit door must open from inside quickly and without a key. We set the switch inside the door and add a manual override.
- Planning: Front-door shutters change how the house looks from the street, so check with your council first, especially in a conservation area or on a listed building.
- Electrics: Wired to BS 7671 by a qualified electrician.

Questions about door roller shutters in Irvine
Will it fit round my door handle?
The shutter runs in front of the door frame, so handles, letterboxes and door canopies are measured at survey and the guides are set out to clear them.
How much does a door roller shutter cost?
A single door is usually £795–£1,195 including VAT, electric, supplied and fitted. Wider openings and doors with side lights cost more.
Is the survey free in Irvine?
For new shutters, yes. Repair visits in Irvine are charged because they include diagnosis and work on the day.
Do I need permission for door roller shutters in Irvine?
It depends on the property. External shutters on listed buildings need listed building consent, and conservation areas often have tighter rules. Check with your council before ordering; we can supply drawings.
