1. Who we are
Roller Shutters UK is a trading name of S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 16932889), registered office Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG. Your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd.
2. Guide prices and quotations
Prices on this website and from the quote tool are guide prices only. After a survey we issue a written quotation describing the work and the fixed price for it. Quotations are valid for 30 days unless they say otherwise. If you ask for extra work, or we find something that could not reasonably be seen at survey (for example hidden damage to a lintel), we will explain it and agree any change in price with you in writing before doing it.
3. Surveys
Surveys for new installations are free and carry no obligation. Repair and service visits are charged at the rate we tell you when you book.
4. Payment
Unless your quotation says otherwise: 50% deposit when you accept the quotation, 40% on the first day of installation, and the 10% balance on completion. Made-to-measure products are ordered once we receive the deposit.
5. Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you are a consumer and the contract is made at your home or at a distance, you normally have 14 days from the day the contract is made to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. For a service, such as a repair, the 14 days run from the day the contract is made; for goods, from the day they are delivered. Contracts for shutters and doors made to your specification are contracts for goods made to the consumer's specifications, which regulation 28(1)(b) excludes from the right to cancel. We explain this before you accept and, as a goodwill policy, you may cancel a made-to-measure order without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer. If you ask us to start a service within the 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to the point you cancel.
6. Lead times and installation
Lead times in quotations are estimates based on the manufacturer's current schedule. We will keep you informed of any change. Please give our fitters safe access, a clear working area and a suitable power supply where the quotation says one is needed.
7. Planning and consents
You are responsible for obtaining any planning permission, listed building consent or landlord approval needed for the work. We will supply drawings and product details to help. Where we have agreed in writing to manage an application, the quotation says so.
8. Products, ratings and images
Security and fire ratings belong to the manufacturer's tested products, and we supply the manufacturer's evidence with any rated product we quote. The photographs on this website are computer-generated images of the types of product we supply; they are not photographs of our completed jobs.
9. Guarantees and your statutory rights
Your quotation states the manufacturer's warranty for the products supplied. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that goods are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and that services are carried out with reasonable care and skill.
10. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. For business customers, our liability for other losses is limited to the price of the work concerned, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
11. Complaints
If something is not right, contact us at info@rollershutters-uk.co.uk or 0800 088 6248 and we will try to put it right quickly. If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, we will tell you whether we use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider, and you can also get free advice from Citizens Advice (or Advice NI in Northern Ireland).
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law that applies where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.
