What are roller shutter repairs?
When you call, we ask what the shutter is doing, what it is made of and roughly how big it is, and ask for photos of the shutter, the box and any labels. That lets us bring the likely parts and avoid a second trip.
Common fixes include re-feeding laths into the guides, replacing damaged laths, straightening or replacing guides and bottom rails, re-tensioning or replacing springs, resetting motor limits and replacing failed motors or controls.
If a repair would cost more than it is worth, we will tell you and price a replacement curtain or a new shutter instead.
What does the work cover?
- MechanicalLaths, guides, bottom rails, end locks, springs and barrels.
- ElectricalMotors, limit settings, switches, remotes and control panels.

What should you check first?
- Safety first: Do not keep forcing a shutter that has jammed or dropped; a sprung or heavy curtain can move suddenly. Keep people clear and call us.
- Fire shutters: Faults on fire shutters affect the building's fire safety; tell the person responsible for fire safety and arrange repair promptly.

Questions about roller shutter repairs
Why has my roller shutter stopped working?
Common causes are a tripped or failed motor, limits that have drifted, laths jumping out of a guide, a broken spring on manual shutters, or a jammed lock. Photos help us diagnose it before we visit.
Can you repair any make of shutter?
We repair most domestic and commercial roller shutters. If a part is no longer made we will offer a compatible alternative or a replacement curtain or motor.
How much does a roller shutter repair cost?
A visit with diagnosis and the first hour is usually £125–£195 plus VAT, with parts on top. We tell you the cost before carrying out anything beyond that.
My shutter came down on its own, is it safe?
Keep people away from it and do not try to lift it by hand; a broken spring or failed brake can make it move unexpectedly. Call us and we will make it safe.
