Roller grilles

Open tube-and-link grilles that secure a shop or mall unit while keeping it visible. Surveyed, made to measure and fitted across the UK.

A roller grille is a roller shutter made from a mesh of horizontal tubes and vertical links rather than solid laths. It secures an opening while leaving most of it open to view, so it suits shopping centres, internal units, car parks and shopfronts where the display must stay visible.

What are roller grilles?

Grilles are the most open form of roller shutter. They keep people out but let air, light and sight lines through, which is why shopping centres often require them for internal units.

They can be fitted outside a shopfront or behind the glass inside the shop, where they protect the stock without changing the look of the frontage.

Aluminium tube-and-link grilles are light and tidy; steel versions suit heavier-duty openings such as car parks and service yards.

Which options can you choose?

  • PatternStraight or brick-bond link patterns.
  • MaterialAluminium or galvanised steel; polished or powder-coated.
  • PositionExternal, or internal behind the shop glass.

What should you check before ordering?

  • Weather: Grilles do not keep out rain or wind, so they suit internal positions or sheltered openings.
  • Centre rules: Shopping centres often specify finishes and operation; we work to the landlord's fit-out pack.

How does the process work?

  1. Tell us about the opening

Use the quote tool or the form: what it is for, rough sizes and a few photos if you have them.

  2. Free survey

We measure the opening and the space around it, check fixings and power, and talk through options.

  3. Fixed written price

You get a clear quotation with the product, controls, fitting and lead time. Nothing is ordered until you accept.

  4. Made, fitted, handed over

The shutter is made to measure, fitted, set up and demonstrated, with the manufacturer's documents left with you.

Questions about roller grilles

Are roller grilles secure?

They form a strong barrier against entry, but small items could be reached through the gaps, so they suit displays rather than open counters of small goods.

Can a grille go inside the shop?

Yes. Internal grilles behind the glass are common where planning or the landlord prefers the shopfront unchanged.

Do shopping centres allow solid shutters?

Many require open grilles for internal units; check your lease or fit-out guide.
