What are industrial roller shutter doors?
Big openings mean big forces. The curtain, guides and barrel are sized for the width and the wind on that elevation, and the motor is chosen for the duty cycle, so a door that opens fifty times a shift is built differently from one that opens twice a day.
Insulated doors keep heated warehouses and workshops warmer and reduce condensation; single-skin steel suits unheated stores, farm buildings and secure compounds. Vision laths and wicket-free designs are available.
Safety equipment is part of the specification: safety edges, photocells, and controls placed where the operator can see the door. We commission the door and hand over the settings and maintenance advice.

What should you check before ordering?
- Workplace safety: Powered doors in workplaces must be safe to use and kept maintained; that includes working safety edges or photocells and regular servicing.
- Lifting and access: Large doors are installed with suitable access equipment and a site-specific method statement.
- Power supply: Industrial motors may need a 3-phase supply or a dedicated circuit; we confirm what is on site at survey.

Questions about industrial roller shutter doors
How much does an industrial roller door cost?
A typical 4 × 4.5 m electric steel door is around £3,295–£5,995 plus VAT, supplied and fitted. Insulated doors, larger openings and high-duty motors cost more.
Should I choose insulated or single-skin?
Insulated if the building is heated or you get condensation; single-skin steel for unheated stores, farms and compounds.
How often should an industrial door be serviced?
Most busy doors are serviced every six months, quieter doors annually, so the safety devices and motor are checked regularly.
Can you replace a door in a working warehouse?
Yes. We plan the work to keep the bay out of action for as short a time as possible, often a single day for a like-for-like door.
