Our industrial roller shutter doors service in Cardiff
High-cycle openings in Cardiff, such as busy loading bays and forklift routes, are specified with the motor, controls and safety devices to match the traffic.
Each industrial door is specified for its own opening, so a site in Cardiff gets a door matched to its size, use and power supply rather than a single standard.
Surveys in Cardiff and the surrounding area are arranged directly with you, as part of our coverage across South Glamorgan. We also cover Penarth, Caerphilly and Barry, so premises in more than one of these places can be quoted together.

Rules that apply in Cardiff
In Cardiff, as elsewhere in Wales, planning questions go to your local planning authority (the county or county borough council, or a national park authority).
- Lifting and access: Large doors are installed with suitable access equipment and a site-specific method statement.
- Power supply: Industrial motors may need a 3-phase supply or a dedicated circuit; we confirm what is on site at survey.
- Workplace safety: Powered doors in workplaces must be safe to use and kept maintained; that includes working safety edges or photocells and regular servicing.

Industrial roller shutter doors in Cardiff: questions
How much does an industrial roller door cost?
A typical 4 × 4.5 m electric steel door is around £3,295–£5,995 plus VAT, supplied and fitted. Insulated doors, larger openings and high-duty motors cost more.
How often should an industrial door be serviced?
Most busy doors are serviced every six months, quieter doors annually, so the safety devices and motor are checked regularly.
Do I need permission for industrial roller shutter doors in Cardiff?
Possibly. New doors on industrial buildings can need planning permission if they change the elevation, and doors in fire compartment walls must suit the fire strategy. We recommend checking with your local council first.
