Patio & bifold door roller shutters in Newtownabbey: questions
Can you fit a shutter over bifold doors?
Yes. The shutter runs outside the folding doors in its own guides, so it does not interfere with them. Very wide bifolds are often split into two shutters on a centre post.
Will a shutter keep my extension cooler?
Yes, an external shutter stops sun reaching the glass, which is far more effective at reducing heat than an internal blind.
Do I need permission for patio & bifold door roller shutters in Newtownabbey?
It depends on the property. External shutters on listed buildings need listed building consent, and conservation areas often have tighter rules. Check with your local council before ordering; we can supply drawings.
Is the survey free in Newtownabbey?
For new shutters, yes. Repair visits in Newtownabbey are charged because they include diagnosis and work on the day.
