For back doors, French doors and bifolds in Newtown, the shutter is sized to the full frame so the curtain closes onto a level threshold or a bottom rail.
Because a door shutter can cover an escape route, each one we fit in Newtown has an inside control that works without a key, plus a manual override or battery backup.

Rules that apply in Newtown
In Newtown, as elsewhere in Wales, planning questions go to your local planning authority (the county or county borough council, or a national park authority).
- Planning: Rear shutters are less visible, but listed buildings and conservation areas can still need consent.
- Electrics: Wired to BS 7671. Notifiable work in homes in England and Wales, such as a new circuit, is self-certified by a competent person scheme electrician or notified to building control.
- Escape route: If the patio doors are a way out of the house, the shutter needs an inside control and a manual override.
