What to check in Sutton Coldfield before ordering
In Sutton Coldfield, as elsewhere in England, planning questions go to your local planning authority (the district, borough, city or unitary council).
- Planning: Rear shutters are less visible, but listed buildings and conservation areas can still need consent.
- Escape route: If the patio doors are a way out of the house, the shutter needs an inside control and a manual override.
- Electrics: Wired to BS 7671. Notifiable work in homes in England and Wales, such as a new circuit, is self-certified by a competent person scheme electrician or notified to building control.
