What to check in Magherafelt before ordering
Magherafelt is in Northern Ireland, so planning decisions sit with your local council, which has been the planning authority since 2015.
- Planning: Solar shutters look much the same as mains shutters from outside, so the same planning advice applies.
- Orientation: We check daylight on the panel at survey; heavily shaded openings may need a remote panel or mains power.

Solar roller shutters in Magherafelt: questions
Do solar shutters work in winter?
Yes. The panel charges in daylight, not just sunshine, and a full battery runs the shutter for many cycles. Very shaded spots are assessed at survey.
How long does the battery last?
Batteries are a replaceable part and typically last several years in normal use. Replacement does not mean replacing the shutter.
Do I need permission for solar roller shutters in Magherafelt?
External shutters on listed buildings need listed building consent, and conservation areas often have tighter rules. If you are unsure, ask your local council; we provide product details for any application.
Do you cover Magherafelt?
Yes. Magherafelt and the BT45 postcode district are part of our coverage across County Londonderry.
