What to check in Deeside before ordering
In Deeside, as elsewhere in Wales, planning questions go to your local planning authority (the county or county borough council, or a national park authority).
- Safety: Light curtains and activation zones are commissioned on site so the door cannot close on people or vehicles in the opening.
- Maintenance: High cycle counts mean more frequent servicing than ordinary roller doors.

Frequently asked questions
What happens if a forklift hits it?
Many fabric doors have a self-repairing curtain that comes out of the guides on impact and re-feeds on the next cycle.
Why use a high-speed door instead of a roller shutter?
Where a door opens many times an hour, a fast door is only open while traffic passes, which saves energy and keeps areas separate.
