Planning and safety in Aberystwyth
In Aberystwyth, as elsewhere in Wales, planning questions go to your local planning authority (the county or county borough council, or a national park authority).
- Fire shutters: Faults on fire shutters affect the building's fire safety; tell the person responsible for fire safety and arrange repair promptly.
- Safety first: Do not keep forcing a shutter that has jammed or dropped; a sprung or heavy curtain can move suddenly. Keep people clear and call us.
What happens next
Describe the problem
What the shutter is doing, what it is made of and roughly when it was fitted, with photos if possible.
Visit and diagnosis
An engineer checks the shutter, finds the cause and explains the options.
Cost agreed first
Anything beyond the visit is priced and agreed with you before the work is done.
Fixed and reported
We complete the work, test the shutter and leave a short written report.
Frequently asked questions
My shutter came down on its own, is it safe?
Keep people away from it and do not try to lift it by hand; a broken spring or failed brake can make it move unexpectedly. Call us and we will make it safe.
Can you repair any make of shutter?
We repair most domestic and commercial roller shutters. If a part is no longer made we will offer a compatible alternative or a replacement curtain or motor.
