Planning and safety in Loughborough
As an English town, Loughborough follows the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the permitted development rules in England.

Frequently asked questions
Are roller grilles secure?
They form a strong barrier against entry, but small items could be reached through the gaps, so they suit displays rather than open counters of small goods.
Do shopping centres allow solid shutters?
Many require open grilles for internal units; check your lease or fit-out guide.
Do you cover Loughborough?
Yes. Loughborough and the LE11 postcode district are part of our coverage across Leicestershire.
Do I need permission for roller grilles in Loughborough?
Possibly. New external shutters on shopfronts and street-facing elevations usually need planning permission. We recommend checking with your local council first.
